I have typed and deleted so many times.I cannot express how wonderful the staff is here. We unexpectedly had to put down and cat and they felt our pain. They went above and beyond to make an extremely difficult time painless as possible. They gave us time to spend with her, to stay and grieve. They didnt rush us. Today we got her paw prints and some furr with a card in the mail. So thoughtful of them. Our pets are our family and they understand that. Thank you for everything

I’ve used them twice. The first time, they were great. From the front desk to the techs to the vet. I could really tell they cared for my dog and they weren’t trying to get money out of me. However, the second time wasn’t as great. The front desk and the techs were great. They loved on my dog so well and I felt okay with them in his care. The vet not so much. I brought my dog in for a possible impaction. The vet spent 10 minutes telling me my dog is overweight before even getting to my concern. I tried explaining that he sees his regular vet monthly and all diet things are watched by that vet, just trying to get past that and get to the main issue. She responded with “you came here for my opinion”. Yes I did about a possible impaction not to waste time about his weight. It made me feel as his best interest weren’t the priority at the moment and made me uncomfortable.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience there last night. The person working in the front reception area was very nice very helpful and help made my husband and I feel very comfortable. Made a scary situation with a 12 week old puppy turn on so scary. This is the only emergency vet we will use going forward. I wish every vet office cared as much as they do.

I’ve been putting this review off for some time because I wanted to be sure I was level headed and rational beforehand. I wouldn’t come to this clinic again even if you paid me to. My dog had an ultrasound while at this clinic and when I arrived to pick him up i waited over an hour for him to be brought to me, i had to ask for him again. I got him home and realized they had entirely shaved off four of his nipples which they then argued with me about and said they were just nicked and had they been shaved off would have bled profusely. Well they kept him an entire hour after they told me he was ready, so perhaps they were stopping the bleeding? Either way his nipples are NO LONGER THERE. During the consultation with Scott Rizzo (internist and clinic owner) he rudely told me that he didn’t want to even test my dog for the issues he thought he has if i wasn’t willing or able to spend $4,000 a year treating said issues. While i agree that cost is an absolutely necessary conversation to have with clients, being preemptively rude and presumptuous about a client’s desire or ability to finance a suspected issue is such terrible bedside manner. Even if a client is unable to afford treatment, testing may still be desired and that should not be subject to Scott’s judgmental attitude. Speaking of cost, if you thought private equity was bad, a clinic who models their business off private equity is even worse. This clinic has apparently decided to charge 2-4x the cost of labs (finding the 2025 fee schedule for the labs they use is incredibly easy btw) despite not having to do so. $300+ for a lab that costs them $92 is insane. Upcharging a medication by $140+ is also insane, not to mention the online pharmacy they use is SLOW and you almost certainly will not get medications on time. Not only are they ridiculously priced but when you have genuine concerns and questions they will use CHAT GPT to incorrectly respond to you. They labeled our dog with an 8/9 body condition score (our regular vets said he is a little over 6/9) and then switched him to a low fat food for pancreatitis. They instructed me to feed him what equaled over 1400 calories of the new food. I asked them if this was correct because he was previously eating closer to 1100 calories and i thought giving more calories to a dog labeled as ‘obese’ didn’t make sense. They then used Chat GPT to incorrectly explain to me that 1400 calories of a less calories dense food was less calories than 1100 calories. I’m no mathematician but the math isn’t mathing there. Whoever in their office responded with Chat GPT did not even take the time to remove the tale-tale AI response signs from the email. If you have a pet who needs a specialist, find a different one who isn’t just trying to fund their vacations. I’m sure the vet techs actually do care about your animals but i bet they aren’t being compensated appropriately despite this clinic charging so much. If you have a pet who needs emergency care, just take them to an emergency vet so you aren’t spending money at both VSP and the e-vet. The AI response is attached so you can see how ridiculous this response was.

First, regarding your dog’s ultrasound visit and discharge timing: while we always aim to have patients ready promptly, delays can occur if additional monitoring or care is required to ensure a patient is stable and comfortable prior to discharge. With respect to the shaved area, ultrasound preparation does require clipping hair in the abdominal region, which can sometimes include the area surrounding the mammary chain. While we understand how concerning this appearance can be, canine nipples cannot be “shaved off,” and our medical team did not note any trauma to the skin or nipples after shaving.

We are also sorry that your consultation with Dr. Rizzo felt uncomfortable. Cost discussions are an essential part of specialty care, particularly when managing chronic conditions, as they help ensure diagnostic and treatment plans align with a client’s expectations and long-term goals. Our intent is never to be judgmental, but rather transparent, so that clients can make informed decisions about care.

Regarding pricing, our fees reflect the true cost of providing specialty-level medicine, including advanced diagnostics, specialized training, equipment, staffing, and medical oversight. Our laboratory and medication pricing falls within industry standards for specialty practices and is consistent with typical veterinary markup models. Comparing raw lab costs alone does not account for interpretation, medical expertise, equipment maintenance, staffing, and overhead required to deliver timely and accurate results.

With respect to nutrition recommendations, the caloric calculations provided to you were correct. Prescription low-fat diets often differ significantly in caloric density from over-the-counter foods, meaning a larger volume of food may be required to meet a patient’s daily caloric needs. While the total volume may appear higher, the calorie calculation itself was accurate and appropriate for your dog’s medical needs. We regret any confusion in how this was explained and understand how important clear communication is in these situations.

Finally, we want to address your concern regarding the use of AI. While we may use tools to assist with drafting responses, all medical recommendations and communications are reviewed and guided by our trained veterinary professionals. We apologize if any response felt impersonal or unclear, as that is never our intention.

We understand that specialty care can be stressful, emotionally and financially. Our team—including our technicians, veterinarians, and support staff—care deeply about the patients we serve and strive to provide high-quality, compassionate care every day.

I've been there now 4 times, each with a different dog. They don't push anything and they tell you the price before they do anything. The staff is wonderful and I don't feel ripped off. I only knew of this place because my veterinarian office couldn't get me in and I my dog needed urgent care. I whole heartedly recommend this place.

I had an issue with my Doberman and needed for her to be seen the same day. My vet could not get her in so they suggested I take her here. This is an amazing veterinary clinic and urgent care! I simply walked in! They were very kind and efficient in diagnosing her issue. While I was in the waiting room I met a gentleman who drives an hour specifically to see a vet there. It was not super close to where I live but will use this as my emergent needs vet! The waiting area is very large so as to create space between waiting animals to be seen. Also, the exam room was very large and very nice creating an exceptional experience!

I had to take my cat here on New Year's Eve because of some urinary tract issues he was having. On the phone they were transparent about pricing, and made it clear that he would be checked immediately for blockages. Thankfully his case turned out to be minor, so I waited for about an hour in a room, where a vet tech and Dr. McGill communicated very well about his situation. They listened and explained everything very thoroughly. They were gentle and friendly, which I really appreciated! The pricing was fair, I got a lot of treatment for my cat, and I was expecting to pay a lot more. I would highly recommend this urgent care, and I will be returning should my cat need help again!

THIS PLACE IS FANTASTIC (I've had bad experiences with other businesses in order to have this range of comparison). I was recommended here because my dog's PCP vet couldn't squeeze her in. It was quick and easy to book a same day appointment online. From the moment I walked in, all staff members I encountered were welcoming, patient, and accommodating for my dog and myself. Everything was clean and nicely furnished/decorated. The care my dog received was thorough and I felt as if they truly cared about her comfort and health. I wasn't able to follow all of the recommendations due to $ (the pricing was not outrageous, especially for an urgent care, but it is Christmas time), but I wasn't made to feel guilty or ashamed. Amanda was very sweet and understanding. Thank you! 10/10 would recommend to anyone for urgent pet needs. Hope my baby stays well, but if not, I know where I'm coming in case of an emergency.

It’s a difficult review to write, as we lost our beloved cat Louie unexpectedly. But, in case you’re up on the middle of the night using Google to look up places to take your pet, try to go here. On Halloween, my seemingly healthy cat was acting very sick and I made an appointment on line for him to be seen first thing. We were treated with care and concern from intake. When the diagnosis was very bad, the Dr and tech showed amazing compassion and offered all types of support. The choices of testing, treatment and cost were all offered and up front. The process of euthanasia (which we usually have the mobile vet do at home) was a good as it could be. I was beyond impressed and very thankful. Their follow up in the mail was just so appreciated. The staff here is so awesome!! We were traveling for the holiday when our english bulldog's tummy started to get upset. We were nervous and wanted to make sure everything was ok. We had already planned to stop in Louisville for the night and looked for pet urgent care around our hotel, called this place, and they were able to get us in around the same time we would be rolling into town!! Right when we checked in, the front desk receptionist, Taylor, was extremely welcoming. They remembered that we had said we were traveling so they offered us some water, coffee and even showed us where the bathroom was. We waited less than 5 minutes and the amazing tech, Brittany, took us back. They were also extremely welcoming and reassuring. We saw Dr. Emilee and she was great as well!! All were very kind, understanding, and knowledgeable. We felt that our pup was getting the care and attention she deserves. We were able to get the peace of mind we were wanting to continue on with our trip back home. The pricing was not bad either. Another emergency vet quoted us almost double the price than this one quoted us. Definitely recommend this place!!!
