i booked the two hour mini experience on get your guide. they picked me up and dropped me off at my hotel in ao nang. kai my guide was amazing and told me all about the elephants. these elephants have been rescued from unethical practise and are cared for on this sanctuary sight. defo worth a visit if you’re staying in ao nang as it isn’t quite as far as another ethical sanctuary i was planning on visiting. you’re not allowed to touch or bath the elephants but you can feed them from a distance and take photos. 2 hours was plenty of time to walk around the site.
a beautiful experience seeing elephants for the first time! they are just so pure to watch! i can’t recommend the tour enough, book through get your guide, they pick you up, provide you with breakfast, provide an ethical non touching tour with the elephants, and a cute bag as a souvenir at the end! it was a fab experience and highly recommend to all!
lovely experience. my guide, yai, was super informed on all of the elephants, she was also incredibly friendly, warm, and made the experience ten times better. the sanctuary itself is lovely - you can see the elephants are well taken care of and you get the chance to be really close to them (and feed them!). my friend was sick and couldn’t attend and they even sent me a gift and food to bring back to her!! thank you so much
The most magical experience! We opted for the 3 hour half day tour. As soon as we entered the premise we were greeted with breakfast and drinks. Then our tour guide sat with us and explained more about elephants general history. We then cut up some food for the elephants and made them sticky banana rice snacks to hide their medication in, which was a laugh because it was like making sushi. Then we got to watch the elephant eating it. No touching. Just watching from the barrier. Then we went around to see each of the elephants and learn more about them which was amazing to hear and see their personality. After the tour we had 1 hour to draw on our own bag and eat lunch as well. This was a nice touch as a lovely souvenir to bring home. Overall, I would 100% recommend this place. I was searching a lot to find a good ethical sanctuary in Krabi, where there is no bathing or touching, but this was perfect!
Peaceful morning with the elephants
We really enjoyed our visit to the sanctuary. Yai our guide was very knowledgeable of each of the elephants. You can tell she enjoyed her job and being with the elephants. We felt it was a very peaceful place and the elephants were being well looked after by their mahout. We booked direct on the website and it was all very clear with contact about pick up from our hotel for the morning visit.
