I have fostered 3 kittens (and counting!) with Brixies Rescue and have had only great experiences. They follow what I consider to be ethical practices for a rescue (spaying/neutering animals, vetting, transparency around costs/donations/medical and behavioral notes, etc.). You can really tell that the owners put a lot of thought, care, and financial resources into the rescue. I highly recommend Brixies to future fosters and adopters!

I was lucky enough to adopt two of my puppies from Brixies, Gracie and Lexie. This rescue was so easy to work with, with an easy but thorough application and quick response time. Not only do Tricia and Jeff support you through the adoption process, they are also there if needed for support after you take your pup/ cat home. Through everything, they are there for both you and the dog/ cat you adopt. I am so happy I chose Brixies rescue. Because of them I have 2 dogs who have changed my life and the life of my family for the better.

I was lucky enough to be able to foster a dog through Brixies and couldn’t believe how loving the team is. They have cultivated a community of like minded people who put the animals first. I have seen the leaders of Brixies, on more than one occasion, take on animals and cases that many others have given up on, and never making no an option.
They were very communicative throughout the process and made sure that I felt supported.
My partner and I adopted the sweetest dog from Brixie’s! The whole adoption process was really easy and smooth, and you can quickly tell from speaking to the owner of the rescue that the dogs are really well cared for and loved. Brixie’s was able to easily work with our schedule so we could find a time to have a meet and greet with our puppy, and was able to be flexible on when we could pick our puppy up and bring her home. So far our experience with our puppy has been amazing. Brixie’s provided all of her medical records and made sure we were aware of any previous medical issues. We brought our puppy to our local vet and they said that the rescue took really good care of her because she is in great health all thanks to them! Can’t recommend them enough ❤️
We adopted our pup, Rico from Brixies and they were an absolute pleasure to work with. From the start, they were incredibly kind and communicative throughout the entire adoption process. Even after we adopted Rico, their team was attentive and ensured they answered any of our post adoption questions to make the new home transition for Rico as smooth as possible. You can tell they truly care about the rescues, fosters and the people they allow to adopt their animals. Highly recommend fostering and/or adopting with Brixies.
I am one of Brixies fosters & a life long lover of both cats & dogs. This organization has heart and their number one priority is for the safety, health and well-being for their rescues. My son and I have fostered 3 dogs so far. We fell in love with all of the dogs & their stories. My older cats were not overly fond of the big dogs but as promised all of the dogs were cat friendly.
Oscar, a lab mix, our 1st foster dog was a year and a half old and he had been in a shelter for an entire year. Oscar did not know love or how to live in a home. He stole my son's heart as we earn his trust. With a little patience and love Oscar learned his commands. He gave me his paw and he was not agressive towards hostile cats or other dogs. We had him 4 months and he bloomed into a wonder trained dog. It was so hard saying goodbye to him but my older cats were intimidated by his size. Prior to Oscar I had not owned or trained a dog in many years.
Xenia, a cattle dog was our 2nd foster. She was 6 months old when we got her. Xenia stole my heart and Xenia was an absolute joy. She was smaller than Oscar but still a little too big and intimidating to my older cats but Xenia was also cat friendly. Craig my youngest cat loved to play sneak attack with her. She was so smart and quickly learned her commands. She could shake hands and could also give you a high five. Her fur was the softest and she loved to snuggle. Xenia had tons of energy. A family friend met her and asked that my son drop by with Xenia during the holidays. Someone in their family who was visiting was looking to adopt a dog. It was so hard letting Xenia go but the family who adopted her was just perfect for her to live her best life. Xenia is doing well and in a good home. Her handsome brother, Dusty I believe might be still available. I am sure he is just as smart.
Our 3rd rescue, Mia is a 21lb small mix and she is about 3 or 4. She had taught me that small dogs are hard to train. She is slowly training us.
Possibly her bonding to my youngest cat, Craig Ferguson, "the charming mischievous trouble maker" has corrupted Mia. Mia & Craig became fast friends. Our older cats enjoy watching Mia and Craig wear each other out zooming after one another. In a bit we hope to foster another cat friendly dog along with Mia. Mia, a fiesty little watch dog has stole our hearts and Craig's.
If you are considering fostering a dog, its a rewarding process and Brixies can help you find the right animal to foster or adopt. When a dog is in a shelter too long it stops trying to engage with people so it is less likely to get adopted. Fostering a rescued older animal helps that animal adjust to a life in an apartment or home. If you have ever rescued an older cat or dog you know that that pet will be forever greatful and loyal to you. They know you saved them and that is an amazing bond. It does take more patience when you first get them to trust you but once that happens you have a friend for life. All of my pets have been rescues and I can't imagine getting an animal from a breeder. Many pure breed pets have more health problems than rescued pets. Brixies knows their dogs and checks in with their fosters. They can help you find the breed of dog/ cat that fits best with your situation. Their rescued animals get their health care needs met.
So many people wanted kittens and puppies during Covid and sadly a bunch of those older cats and dogs have been abandoned. Some of the older pets were used as breeders for puppies and kittens or possibly abused. You can help make a difference to the well-being of a pet and improve you own health in the process. Owning a pet lowers blood pressure and helps reduce stress. We all have way too much stress in the world today. Go visit the Brixies website and fill out an application, explain what type of pet you want to adopt or foster and they will be your favorite matchmaker.
Scam! Made me fill out a foster application, pay $6 and my drivers license so they can be sure I am really interested. Noone called me for a long time. Then after I spoke to Trisha, we set a time when she brings the puppies to me for foster. We cancelled all our plans amd were home waiting. When I realised that she never called my references, I trued to contact her and was ghosted. She disappeared with no communication. Please be careful, do not trust this "rescue". Also reporting them to other official channels. Disgrace.
I found Brixie rescue threw adopt a pet
The owner personal spoke to me and still is giving me tips on how to help my puppy

The people who own Brixies rescue are amazing. They were kind, compassionate and professional.
They took the time to help me understand clearly what I need to do to rectify my situation. They took the time and went above and beyond, to make sure that I could correct my mistakes so that I would be better equipped for future situations.
I was able to get my desired outcome. I am just grateful that I was able to contact them.
